Pray for the people of Haiti as they deal with natural disasters and political instability.


History Note

On January 12, 2010, a major earthquake caused extensive destruction and loss of life in the country of Haiti. The epicenter of the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.0, was located near the capital of Port-au-Prince. Several smaller but still significant aftershocks affected the country for weeks.

Tens of thousands of people died because of the earthquake. About one million people lost their homes. International aid organizations worked for years to help the people of Haiti recover from the devastation.
